Football Fan Tips

Highschool Football playoffs are quickly approaching and the weather will be as unpredictable as the score of the game! I use my Thirty-one 7 pocket bag to keep my Football gear organized. The bag contains 2 blankets. I have a small fleece blanket that I fold to sit on because those metal bleachers get mighty cold on the bum! The second blanket, also a Thirty-one blanket, one side is water repellent and the other fleece. This blanket acts as a barrier to wet bleachers. Place the water resistant side down. This blanket is also large enough to wrap yourself in or cover you and your partners legs. I keep 2 stocking caps, 2pairs of gloves, scarf, umbrella, kleenex, bandaids, handsanitizer, wetwipes, snacks, bell, pompoms, football roster, money, and occassionally little brothers extra gear!

Mr & Mrs. Z's 50th Wedding Anniversary

It is hard to imagine that a couple could actually make it to 50 years in this day and time. I have a hard time thinking I will be married as long as I have and we have survived. It will be 13 years this year. This wonderful couple was married on Valentine's Day 50 years ago! I have known them since I was a young girl. Their son is my bestest friend. So of course when I was asked to do their cake I couldn't say No! The night of the celebration, I was reminded of how Lucky I am to have such wonderful friends and be a part of this wonderful family!

Almost into the 3rd Month of 2010

I can't believe that next week is March. Time seems to be flying by; My mother always told me that once you have children, time passes you by very quickly.

January we wrapped up 8th grade basketball. Cole was on the "B" team, but practiced every night and managed to have 2 games a week. Cole also turned 14 at the end of the month. I soon learned that I wished he was 4! The hormone surges are insane! He is like a dormant volcano...you never know when he will erupt! And when he does WATCH OUT!

Reece seems to take it all in. He is happy being in scouts and going to school. He loves being outside. He really enjoyed the Colts being in the Superbowl! He put all the Colts garb on and was rooting very loudly for them to win.

My bestest friend Pedro's parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Valentine's day. My Mom and I made their celebration cake. She baked the cakes for me and I decorated it. We came up with the design together. It turned out beautiful. I also realized that day that some friends come and go in your lifetime, but you have that one friend that stays in your life always, even if you don't talk to them on a daily basis or see them weekly. That is the bestest friend to have!

The above pretty much sums up the first 2 months of our 2010.

I finally feel caught up!

Mother's Day

As many of you know we have been working on a old farmhouse for what seems like an eternity. There are parts of the house that get remodeled depending on how the weather is. Our utility/office/scrapbook/art room was almost finished last Thanksgiving, but Niagra falls decided to make an appearance and set us back almost a year. When Mike asked me what I wanted for Mother's day, I said don't spend any money, just finish my room...The boys and he worked very hard the past 2 days making it all come together. They pulled an all nighter of painting and hanging shelves. I was unable to look in the room when I came home this morning from work. I ate a nice breakfast that Reece had prepared and proceeded to bed. Once awake I was blind-folded and then walked into the room. What a surprise I had found! I can't wait to arrange my cabinets and get to scrapbooking. Reece has pulled out all of his and Cole's art over the past year and we now have it displayed. The tulips were picked from my flower garden and Cole helped run the wiring for the wireless internet. Let the scrapbooking begin...

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

7th/8th Grade Spring Dance

Cole thought there was too much "hype" in getting ready for the dance! This made me sad and at that moment I wished I had a girl... He was down to the wire in getting ready. I made about 4 dozen cookies to take and he would not walk in with me. He walked about 100 feet behind. He didn't want anyone to know I was his Mom. I also had to leave my camera in the car! Do you know how hard that was! Once in the door and seeing some of the girls and their choice of dresses, I was glad I had a BOY... After being in the dance for an hour or so it was OK that he come up to ME and want me to look on my phone for the score of the Cub Game! OH... Too be a Teenager!

It All started with the haircut!

Weekend Scrapbooking

I have recently returned from a much needed mini-vacation with my wonderful friends. We had a great time re-nourishing our souls and archiving our lives for our family's families to come. I am very excited about digital scrapbooking. My friend Tammy is a genious and can figure out anything. I am diving in. Here are a few examples I put together...
